Service Manager: Travis Throckmorton
Travis is a Pedal Power veteran and has worked at the shop for over ten years. He brings to the table a wealth of experience from working his way up to service manager. Everything from hydraulic brake systems on mountain bikes to overhauling your vintage road bike, he has you covered. When it comes to shocks, Travis is our suspension expert. Over the years he has formed great relationships with many repeat customers and they have come to depend on him to keep their bikes running smoothly.
Travis has a BMX racing background but now he's usually riding on the road and trails around Richmond. When he's not wrenching on bikes at the shop he enjoys hunting, metal detecting and spending time with his family
Our service staff is professionally trained and certified to work on all makes and models of bicycles, not just the ones we sell. Each member of the team participates in skill-advancement sessions with several factory service certifications each year. Whether its a minor tune-up or a major overhaul, you can count on us to do the job right the first time, every time. All our work is guaranteed.
The current owner Randy Bohn took over the old Mechanicsville shop in 1989, the year C.B. Johnson retired at the age of 85. Randy's retail experience goes back to the mid seventies in the motorcycle industry and he's successfully ran the business under the philosophy of treating others as you would like to be treated. This simple policy has created many firsts around Richmond, like "free lifetime adjustments and tune ups on all new bicycles" and although we do not buy bikes, we do take trade-ins if you wish to purchase a new bike. There is even a liberal exchange policy to make sure you are happy with anything you purchase.
